White Custom Wood Built-Ins with Black Walnut Butcher Block Counter

This client added custom cabinetry to fit a space in the laundry room. Shaker-style inset doors and drawers on the base and upper cabinets were finished in Benjamin Moore White Cream. Grain fabricated the top, which is a true butcher block counter, made with 3 inch thick black walnut and finished with clear acrylic polyurethane. An additional black walnut butcher block top was custom made for the laundry sink.

Location: West Roxbury, MA

The owner of this upscale, 3-story, 6 bedroom colonial home engaged Grain for a custom fit. The bank of drawers spans the entire wall of the bedroom loft, providing additional storage. The challenge was that the drawer units were installed in the attic living area. Therefore, each drawer had to be built and sized appropriately to accommodate the slope of the wall / roof.

All maple drawers were inset into the frame, providing a clean and uniform look. The white oak countertop was finished with a clear coat to bring out the natural beauty of the white oak. The cabinets were finished off with a Benjamin Moore high quality paint and brass drawer pulls.

An additional amenity space was created with table tops for people to hang out and work. Grain fabricated the solid white oak table tops with a satin finish and finished with upholstered seating.
