The challenge was finding the right vanity for this cozy bathroom.  So, the owner chose Grain for a custom built oak wood vanity. The simple look of shaker style doors and drawers are complimented by the quartz countertop and door / brass drawer pulls. Three layers of finish were applied, using a clean coat conversion varnish.

Grain built and installed this large custom kitchen with a center island  in a newly constructed home.  Shaker style doors and drawers were used throughout to provide a clean and simple look against the pine wood floors.  The owner also used Grain to do other custom work – bathroom vanities, dining area with handmade cherry table, mudroom storage, foyer, laundry room and the pantry.

The project included fabricating and installing:
– Large kitchen with an island
– Bathroom vanities – double and single sink
– Master Bedroom – closet drawers & shelves
– Mudroom – bench and cubbies
– Hallway – built-in cabinets
– Laundry room – vanity and shelves
– Dining Room – cherry table

The challenge was to update the kitchen in the main house to accommodate an eating area and provide plenty of storage space.  We installed large drawer cabinets as the base units (instead of doors), since this was a client preference. The cabinets were fabricated using ¾” birch europly with maple face frames.  All drawers are constructed of maple and feature dovetail joints and soft-close slides.  Benjamin Moore White Dove was used as the painted finish.

The best feature is a coffee bar / beverage station with an under-counter mini-fridge. The built-in bench seating was another great feature. White quartz was used for the countertop and matching backsplash.  LED lights were added to the ceiling, and crown molding was installed throughout the room.

This kitchen was made for this space. The guest house was constructed with large windows, a cathedral ceiling and sand colored flooring.  The full gourmet shaker kitchen provides a generous work and eating areas and was painted with Benjamin Moore Gentleman’s Grey.

The challenge was to make the living room of this newly constructed condo feel warm and comfortable. The answer was to fabricate and install custom wood cabinets on both sides of the fireplace where the homeowner could add personal artwork and books to give the room detail.

The floor to ceiling wood cabinets complement the fireplace / TV, incorporating maple face frames, inset doors, and decorative door pulls from Emtek in oil rubbed bronze.  The base and crown moldings were installed to match the existing moldings in the room. The units were finished with Benjamin Moore pearl white.

Mahogany Deck Bar

Architect: Hampden Design

Materials: Sapele mahogany, stainless steel

Location: Newton, MA

This deck bar features a higher bar counter and a lower working surface.  Sapele mahogany was chosen because of its durability against the elements and its eventual driftwood gray look.  Stainless steel fixtures for the foot rail and countertop brackets were used to complement the wood.
