This project was unique because of the diversity of millwork pieces required. The most unique part of this project was the design and fabrication of the modular wall storage system which completely surrounded the interior space. The wine display boxes and shelving are all interlocking modular units to be set up in various configurations. The wall panels were cut with a CNC router.
The point of sale counter was fabricated with white oak to 4” thick and 16’ long counter top featuring a folded mitre at the end. A pair of diagonal slatted barn doors were also fabricated using poplar and finished with paint.
The steel / white oak display carts sitka spruce. two display tables fabricated from sitka spruce and steel. The two larger tasting tables sitka spruce and steel – all tables are mobile. A satin clear clear finish was applied to the point of sale counter and table tops.
Finding the right plywood was a challenge because the customer wanted a specific look. Ultimately, a europly was selected for the wall panels. Fabricating the interlocking fitted boxed and installation in an untrue historic building were additional challenges.
