Walnut Table Giveaway at American Field

Grain attended the American Field event the weekend of September 12th & 13th.  It was our first show and we really enjoyed being there, and met some awesome people doing great work.  We stayed busy the whole weekend - from hauling furniture into the space Friday night, to chatting with other makers, creatives, and brands throughout the weekend - and it could not have happened without the help of my father. On Sunday, we decided to give away our live edge walnut slab wood table.  To enter the contest, all you had to do was give us your name and email.  When the weekend settled and we got back to the shop, I put everyone's name in the blower end of a shop vac, and the first name I caught won the table.  Enjoy the video!

American Field This Weekend

Grain Wood Shop at American Field

Grain will be at the American Field event this weekend, come and say Hi and look at all the beautiful products made in the U.S.A.  We will have t-shirts, hats and the Boston made coffee boxes for your press, grinder, and bag of coffee for sale.  If you have a custom project in mind then you should be sure to stop by. We will also be showing the short film that Windy Films created for me.

This event is indoors and free, the weather Sunday does not look great so I  hope to see a lot of people out. Have a g reat weekend.

Grain Wood Shop - Using Hand Tools - Windy Films

This past spring, my Boston Harbor Shipyard neighbors, Windy Films, spent a day with me filming and chatting about what I do at Grain Wood Shop. The result was a wonderfully produced short video that really encompasses my passion for this business.

East Boston Open Studios 2015

East Boston Open Studios 2015 Is This Weekend!

East Boston Open Studios is an annual event where Eastie artists invite the community to see their latest creations. This year, Grain Wood Shop is proudly hosting a few top notch artists in the showroom. Grain has been working hard on building out this showroom for the last several months. It is now in phase two of four. The showroom still needs sheet rock and proper lighting but we are getting there.  As some of the art work started to come in last night, I found myself getting really excited to fill the space with such talented local artists. If you have not been over to the shop yet, this weekend is a great reason to come check it out and do a little exploring in Eastie. Don’t forget to head to my favorite meal spot across the street and grab a cold beer and an Australian meat pie at: K.O. Pies [caption id="attachment_282" align="aligncenter" width="1024"]Grainwoodwhop_showroom_eastbostonopenstudios_Boston_artwork Excited to Hang some art on these walls for the weekend![/caption]  The showroom/east Boston open studios will be open Saturday, April 25, 12pm-6pm and Sunday, April 26, 12pm-4pm.
